Ian Bennett, brother of winner of this earlier in the year, Michelle

Not deliberately, but havn't featured him this update. Just haven't caught any of his hands I am afraid

Michelle has been railing all day

Good luck to Ian! Lost to his other half few months back an hes a nice guy!

Crikey if Ian's my brother we have a very incestuous relationship!!!!  He's my husband, which explains why I've been railing him all day!  I've taught him everything he knows obv x

Michelle, I was with him as I was working at your BLPT final a few years ago. In an interview he said exactly te same thing about you! pmsl!...Just who taught who?!...

The schedule for the November festival at the Venetian, and at the bottom a few pages down it has a night room rate for Poker players!

I am in the Venetian for the whole of the Deepstack and can't wait!

Thanks for all of the advice guys and girls. It is appreciated and hope I can comehome in the black again and at the same time develop my live cash game, as I have been running very very good with online cash in the last few weeks!

Maybe be joined for a spell during the month by a mate or two also, so its comig together even more for my month in heaven and hopefully to make some cash too!

You will find a lot of good info on allvegaspoker.com, the Venetian has just started to run $2-$2 P/L omaha and having seen how the yanks play it should be a good game.

Not a bad site! It gives pretty good rating to the Venetian and Belllagio, so will likely stay a lot in the Venetian and maybe play some cash and deep stacks at the Bellagio too. But I also want to take in a few of the other card rooms including some of the samller ones too!

you sound like you have plenty of cash experience. With that in mind and assuming competence -  i would probably swerve the 1/2 and 1/3 tables - get yourself on the 2/5 and make some proper money. If you run good maybe step up and see how it goes.

Gl with this - should be a nice close to what sounds like a bad year!

GLGLGLGLGLL

A bad year is putting it mildly, but I am coming through it now and determined I will do so stronger as a person and a Poker player! Like I have said, this could be an extravagance but one I am prepared to give myself at this time of my life. But that's only worst case, I fully intend coming home in the black and maybe significantly so!

As for my cash experience, yes I do have plenty, BUT this is mainly on line! The rest of the trip and the deepstacks I am comfortable with, but the cash is something I want to give myself more live experience at without doing my bollocks! So what better (or worse) place could I do it!

It is the cash side of things I need the most help with in pointing me in the right direction etc, the rest I Am happy to take on the chin and win or lose by what I do at the tables, and I can't wait! Bring it on!

I will keep you all updated!

Also, on my last visits I have not played too much cash. Given what I set aside for the deepstack buy-in's I am planning on taking $5k as a cash bankroll and will limit myself to this unless I cash in one of the early Deep stacks!

Given my bankroll and the fact I play both NLH or PLO, where would any regular Vegas cash players suggest I play? What sort of level and what sort of sit down chips should I start with?

Not asking for too much am I? Sound like a novice now! Truth is I play a lot and I am very comfortable on line in both cash and MTT's and in live MTT's, but have very limited live cash experience. I want to allow myself that $5k to either develop that and prove to myself I can step up live, or bust it all in one night!

the venetian is really good to stop at & I'm sure you'll enjoy your stint there.
ur prob gonna need a top 3 spot somewhere along the line to get out of it/show some profit...i found the single table sats really really soft & i'd def play a few of those.
gl!

Exactly what I was thinking, either that or a top 6 and a large % of money finishes but that isn't so easy with such large fields. Will try and take some pressure off by targeting myself $5k from the cash, but the challenge is on and I can't wait as I have really needed this break as Poker has been my salvation this year and a month of nothing but Poker and relaxing by the pool or a spot of shopping, or even eating out or a night in a club, is a month of heaven!

To be honest the cash return isn't the main thing of this as you may gather, tbh I would pay $25k now just to get away from it all, but that don't mean that I wont be doing everything I can to come home with more $ than I go with!

Either way I will have a smile on my face! I also think that will help my game as I don't need to win etc, I can just play my game and relax without added pressure.

After a testing year so far (putting it mildly - marriage breakup and not my choice etc) my reward has arrived, well it is booked now anyway! A month in Vegas baby!  I am travelling out on 28th October till 29th November and I can't wait now.

Flying on direct flights and a month long stay at the Venetian. I intend to play at least 75-80% of the festival, and chill-ax by the pool and in the local area's and shops on the off days I give myself!  Buy in for all the events works out at $16.15k, so will likely allow myself $12.5k to do the 75-80%.  With the flights and suite (at Poker room rates) and moderate spends I am looking at $20k for the trip and $5k bankroll for some cash play. for $25k all in is my limit.

So that's my minimum target on return from both the cash and festival. I want to come home cashing on or more than $25k! Not the biggest target in the world and it is achievable, but the competition is tough. Can I cut it and transfer my on line success to the green felt of Vegas!

This is not my first trip, and in 7 previous trips I have came home in profit 6 times, but I have not been for 18 months and this is by far the highest levels I will have played at in Vegas live. Can I transfer the success and make the step up?

That is an extravagance I accept I am lucky to be in a position to risk that sort of cash. But after the year I have had away from Poker, combined with the fact that I am having my best year on line at the tables (currently up approx $52k), it is one I can do and deserve as a reward for getting through this time of my life combined with having some fun with what I have cashed on line!

I play mostly medium/high level deeptack MTT's on line, also cash ($5/$10 and up) NLH or PLO (same level) and low level ($2/$4 max) Hi/Lo!

I have not been around here too much, but think I will call it home from now as far as a Poker forum's go! (a couple of people around here know why I couldn't before).  If anyone wants to say hi or will be in Vegas over this time, then let me know as I am travelling alone. I will try and get on here some more both before I go when I am stateside with a few updates or mini blog, maybe! (I'm not that interesting, so maybe its just an ego trip)!

I do think I can do it though!

Kiev is a delightful city and may consider this on those grounds, but I am unsure of the security here also!

it's about 1 million times safer than london

Very true, but in London I speak the lingo and know my way around a bit!

Us Brits always feel bad about tips, its not the norm over this side of the pond in day to day life as it is elsewhere...ive what you want and what you think is fair, don't leave an insult tip but if you are just honest and fair you will be fine and people with appreciate that!

The Paris is one of the old school Casino's in Blackpool that has only in the last year or so started offering Poker again. They had a cardroom with approx 8 or 9 tables and have games 2 or 3 nights per week, I am not sure if that included last night. They also have some pretty heavy cash games, or they did a few months ago as thats how I became aware of the place.

The games are donkathons and rebuys for deep pokets, but the cash games I have played there have been insane including Dealers Choice and a localish game I had not heard of called "Shifting Sands"! I only played a few times but was a solid 4 ooo's up in those few visits, gutted its gone before my next visit as they hammer you for every cent at the G!

Such a shame, if I remember right the owner/GM was a friendly old school man called Pierre?  Sad if it cannot be a literal Phoenix in a few months time...
