4  Poker Forums / The Rail / The London Poker Circuit Farewell on: September 17, 2009, 01:27:29 PM
Dear All,

It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the termination of the London Poker Circuit. Thank you to everyone who has attended our events over the past 7 months. We sincerely hope that you have enjoyed them.

The dissolution of the LPC is based purely on its financial circumstances and the fact that we are not permitted to have cash games or attract players for anything other than tournaments. This, coupled with the gaming duty and the costs of running the events make the venture impossible to kick start.

We may return in the future. In the meantime please do not register or email us as the website will be disabled imminently.

Thank you once again and best wishes.

Phil and the LPC Team

Hi chaps,

Thanks for coming on the weekend. Sorry about the £750 but we are bleeding money away like crazy. Nick's right though - if we get this other one pumping then we may look at a bigger buy in somewhere in the future. If we get the numbers for our new event we can start satellites into the big ones.

Whatever the case, we will do our best to stay around and to offer fun, value tournaments.

Cheers

Phil
6  Poker Forums / The Rail / LPC SCHEDULE CHANGE on: August 16, 2009, 01:21:05 PM
Dear All,

The mid stakes seem to be the most popular way to go - we hit 63 runners and £5500 with at least 20 people only paying the £50+£15 for value, without really trying too hard, so from next month onwards we will be concentrating on big value for low stakes and dispensing with the £750 buy in. Player feedback suggests everyone likes the ability to enter a big pool for a low to medium buy in, dealer dealt.

Therefore we will be running as follows (schedule will be on Hendon, Pokerineurope etc soon) -

Super Stack Series Leg Three (and every month thereafter) - 11th-13th September
3 DAY EVENT!! - Choose your starting day!

£50 + £15, Dealer Dealt, 5000 stack, One Rebuy (if less than 50% of starting stack) AND One Add-on of 5000 after four levels of play.

DAY 1a - Friday 11th September - Start time 7.30pm, registration from 6.30pm, late registration up to 8.30pm. Capacity 200, play will go down to 9 players.

Day 1b - Saturday 12th September - Start time 3.30pm, registration from 2.30pm, late registration up to 4.30pm, Capacity 200, play will go down to 9 players.

Day 2 - Sunday 13th September - FINAL - start time 2.00pm (it is anticipated that there will be another tournament on this day in addition)

This structure will enable a potential prize pool of between £10,000 and £30,000 depending upon the number of players and rebuys/add ons. For a minimum buy in of £50+£15 and dealer dealt this represents massive value.

888.com will be holding DAILY QUALIFIERS from later this week, at a $10 rebuy cost, split into tickets of £65.

Feedback from Friday was very positive so we look forward to growing this low-mid stakes tournament schedule. Obviously we have to cater for up to 25 dealers and have minimum charges to arrange them, so we do insist on registration through the LPC site - www.londonpokercircuit.co.uk - this will be updated tomorrow, however please select the Friday or Saturday dates (11th/12th September) irrespective of the buy in stated on there. We do not make much money on this due to the running costs as we are unable to run cash games as per our restricted operating licence - therefore we will be running a huge menu of sit n' gos including 6 seat, 10 seat hold'em and also turbos on all days and for all pockets!

We will post more news on these events this week.

Thank you

Phil

Couple of highlights for the week and weekend @ the LPC

KINGSWAY HALL HOTEL, COVENT GARDEN (Tube High Holborn)

Thursday and Friday daytime we will be down at the Poker in The Park - come and see our stand, play a quick heads up against John Tabatabai and sign up for the weekend!

FRIDAY August 14th - 7.30pm is our Super Stack Series side event Dealer Dealt £50 NLHE Deep Stack (with one rebuy or add on). Blinds have more levels than the sears tower so a good structure and lots of play.

SATURDAY/SUNDAY August 15th/16th - 2.00pm - £750 Super Stack Series Main Event leg 2 (2 day event) - 20,000 stack, 60 minute blinds, freezeout, buffet dinner. Great value and a long structure - Ross Boatman will be trying to beat his 3rd place last time and Shane Warne will also be playing in the main event for all you cricket fans. THM also have their syndicate winner playing so good luck to all of you who have a piece of the action.

REGISTER online @ www.londonpokercircuit.co.uk for your chosen tournament.

11  Poker Forums / The Rail / LPC SUPER STACK SERIES LEG 2 on: August 05, 2009, 03:07:09 PM
The second leg of the Super Stack Series begins next Friday 14th August. Don’t forget, we are at Poker In The Park at Leicester Square on 13th and 14th during the daytime so come down and try your hand heads up against a guest pro.

The schedule for next weekend is as follows –

KINGSWAY HALL HOTEL, COVENT GARDEN – REGISTER @ http://www.londonpokercircuit.co.uk/frm_register.php

FRIDAY 14th AUGUST – LPC Super Stack Series side event - £50 + £10 NLHE “Dealer Dealt!”  - start time 7.30pm, registration from 6.30pm, 2500 stack + 2500 add-on at the start for £5 to the dealer. This tournament offers one rebuy or add-on in or after the first four levels (15 minute blinds), with a good structure and with a capacity of 150+ - it could easily hit £10,000-£15,000 in the prize pool if it fills. We have already had a number of registrations for this already so if you do want a seat, pre-registration is advisable. You can register at the website address above.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY 15th-16th AUGUST – LPC Super Stack Series Leg 2 £750 + £75 NLHE Main Event – start time 2.00pm, registration from 12.30pm, 20,000 stack, 60 minute blinds, dinner buffet included. The last event had a world class field and the Hendon mob’s syndicate winner Nick Jenkins took down the title. With a potential prize pool of £150,000 with 200 players this regular monthly deep stack is a must on poker players’ calendars. You can register at the website address above.

Cheers

Dear All,

The Super Stack and the side event are looking very busy this Friday and Saturday and I know a number of people have asked if they should pre-register. Registration starts at 8.00pm on Friday 24th and at 2.00pm on Saturday 25th so I would urge people to get to the venue around this time and not leave it late.

We have the Boatman Brothers representing Hendon Mob, the legendary James Akenhead (World Champion of the 2009 WSOP in November we hope!) and also Blonde Poker, 888.com qualifiers and Hendon Mob Syndicate winners.

The majority of players are buying in at 2.00pm on Saturday for the main event and at 8.00pm on Friday for the side event, so please do not enquire how many runners as we can only give you an indication of the numbers from the interest, which is currently around 70+ runners for Friday £330 and 100+ for Saturday main event.

For those that wish to pre-register by debit card please email us with the word REGISTER and your mobile number and we will contact you back with the registration form to complete. If somebody is buying you in then you will need to also complete the 3rd party payment request form  In any case, anyone coming to the LPC for the first time should complete the registration form and send it back or bring it with you so we can enter you in the system as a member.

Any questions please let me know at info@londonpokercircuit.co.uk – see you tomorrow!

This weekend The London Poker Circuit will be at the prestigious Kensington Close Hotel & Spa for the exciting Super Stack Series

Paul Hill is representing BlondePoker from their satellite, Barny and Ross Boatman will be representing The Mob in the main event and James Akenhead will also be playing in the Friday £330 and the £825 main event.

The two day tournament is an 825 pound No Limit Holdem event. With a one hour clock and 20,000 starting stack it will be fantastic value and if you are in town we recommend you give it a go.

Friday's 300 pound double chance freezout also looks like a great shot. See www.londonpokercircuit.co.uk for more details

See you down there.

Thanks! - should be a good night.....I always used to play at that Sportsman £100 rebuy on a friday and so thought a £250 knockout would be a nice tournament to offer London on a Friday night - especially in a 5 star Hotel. A better option for live players than sitting at home waiting for the friday fight night on FT in the early hours! Seems to be attracting a lot of attention so hopefully will be full tonight.
