many people will disagree , but i really think its time to lock this thread, if not remove it . 100% of the uk poker community know all about what went on in vegas. nobody is learning anything new about that . as for the football, i heard about this after the vegas stuff happened , i am from liverpool so you can guess my thoughts on it. i have been directly affected by the issues stuart has just raised, on more than 1 occasion. both close friends ,both men of similar age as well. its sadly all too common. this is the only reason i have not said anything about that.
i am not for one minute downplaying both incidents. you cant defend either of them, but can try to add some context.
i am gutted , upset and of course angry about all of this ,but do not understand what keeping this thread open is going to achieve.apart from something happening that nobody wants to see.

I received the balance owed from Vegas today, I think most other stakers were paid out beforehand. I have also checked all the 2024 entries I could and found no discrepancies. I believe stu hit rock bottom this year during his trip and that's why he did something so stupid. It's almost impossible to prove, maybe he could via his loyalty card or something but I think we'll never really know.
I have an outstanding balance with Stu from previous live tournaments and have consented to pay off over time whilst he gets his shit together. This trip ruined his career, which is partly why I didn't want to go into full details despite feeling I had to say something even though it felt fairly unlikely he would hurt anyone else.
This hurts me personally tbh, and I've expressed how I fell with Stu but I wish him the best with fixing everything and sorting his shit out.
i initially worried about the 2nd bullets taken over the last year or so . having trawled through tons of back and forth messages , there were a few times that stu did not buy in second time, either for not enough big blinds or family stuff etc , so am now pretty confident that it was not happening before vegas . also the GUKPT high rollers (which was often the tournament played) are smallish fields where everybody mostly know each other , they are also streamed live on you tube with regular leaderboard updates , and commentary saying who busts out etc. pretty difficult to fake entries in my opinion. its impossible to get away from the fact that stu did something completely and utterly out of order , so dont think i am on a crusade to try and say everything is ok . its clearly not. he has been spot on for years in everything from my end, as a very regular buyer of smallish bits. he wont be the first good person to do a bad thing, and he wont be the last.

fixtures out today , very tough start for united , with arsenal, city , liverpool (the champions), and chelsea amongst the first 8 or so fixtures
thought i would ask a few questions seeing as this thread was pretty quiet last year
will the boss last past october ?
can united finish above 15th this year ?
can they finish the season without a negative goal difference for the first time in 3 years?
will maguire be top scorer ?
could liverpool win title number 21 at the theatre of delusions on may 2nd ?
stay tuned for another season of the most boring football in decades from the boys , and bruno, and the rest of that shambolic excuse for a football team
Can we just have a few weeks off? i have not said a word for 9 months , however tempting it was ... just a bit of pre season pisstaking i know its been wall to wall liverpool recently , so just enjoy a few weeks off pops , and roll on september

only visited dtd twice , had ali mallu on my table second time which was fun...
he is still in the monster with 54 players left from just under 10000 to start with , how many bad beat stories he must have caused today is anyones guess. $1.2 million up top
i also recognise the name steven frew from dtd updates so am sure lots of you know him well, has a top 10 stack
would love to watch live stream of mallu on huge final table

Indeed we shall see.
You keep getting into position Tony, one of these days....
Maybe Tom, maybe. Being brutally honest, & this is not false modesty, I'm not good enough at the $1,600 Buy-In level & need to get very lucky. But when I somehow get into the money spots at that price level it's SUCH a thrill. Whereas at, say, up to $600 or $800 I do genuinely fancy my chances & only have to get a bit lucky. I'm utterly fascinated at how our minds work in these things, self-confidence (or not) & self-esteem. Anyway, Venetian beckons. Will try & do some 'photos, it's such a lovely & well-run room. Chalk & cheese compared to the grand sounding MGM Grand. at the 1600 level are the players really that different than at 800 or 600? surely its generally the same sort of people doing just what you are doing buy in wise . jumping into what is on that day at varying stakes . some will be really good , some really bad. and you have half a century of experience against most of them.
