Well that never went to plan.

I am still well ahead of the game tonight this just means my last bet will be slightly less than what I was hoping for so lets hold out and see if I can get a price.

I hope the rumours of a late rush for the favourite here is true.  I can't see it leading from T6 here.

There is a lot of pace on the favs inside apart from the T5.

I am hoping for a bit of carnage at the 1st and that T2 will come round in T1's slipstream and pick it up off the 2nd before going clear so I can oioioi it down the straight as it steams home at 12's.

Nice one boys.

I ended up laying the fav for a small bit.  I thought 5 was unlucky seemed to find trouble throughout.

Thankfully though when both of you fancies 2 and I liked 5 seemed easier to lay a short priced fav.

I am all over the T1 .  I can't see it getting beat should lead up and stay the strip out well.

Lets go.  If this wins I am having a decent punt on one of the less fancies dogs in the Laurels.

Wow how did the Fav lose that!!!!!!

weeeeeeeeeee

Not sure but I am sure I felt an abnormal bowel movement during that race.

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiii Smiley

Thoughts on the next?

I'm  looking for reasons to oppose the favourite again.  I can't find much barring the price.  I think T5 is way overpriced.

Bookies getting hammered

All Favs so far

Thats a shame Wink

I was on T1 there but also had a smallish bet on T5 @ 15.5 which I was able to lay off at 10.5.

I was getting a tad excited as they were coming off the last I though  T5 had sprung wings.  Maybe needs to be tried over even further.

Any action here for Chris or Scott?

I like the 1 in this race.  I fear though that it has seconditis and wouldn't be surprised if it managed to give the race away close home.

I also like the T5 here and I really think it will be staying on at the end and would hope that it comes out on terms and can turn handy at the first and makes inroads off the last.

Can the 1 dog get beat here?

Should lead up and stay regardless of any bias.

I amnot backing/laying anything here.  However T6 is a local dog can could be a shout.

In race 2 I can't see passed the 6.  I managed to get a bet matched at 3.75.

I have also backed T5 @ 5.8

Terrible weather for greyhound racing.  I think we may well see a trap bias.  From past experience of watching Bell Vue BAGS & BEGS meetings I think it may well me the outside draw that has the greatest advantage.

I haven't placed any bets yet but I am planning on playing the exchanges.

In the first race I have T6 @ 5.2 & T5 @ 14.

Sea the Stars is a truly great race horse.  What I love about the beast is its versatility over a number of distances.

I think though to be crowned the "greatest ever" you have to show a level of consistency over a number of years.   I appreciate many of the great race horses are retired at an early age and sent to stud where they command great fees for covering some useful dam's.  This though I cannot accept is a measure of greatness.

I think also the mark of a great horse is the will to win against older/more experienced rivals.  So many  year olds fail to materialise into top 4 & 5 year olds.

I think what we can say is STS is one of the greatest horses we have seen in our generation.  He is pretty much the Usain Bolt of the horse world.  Would we say that Usain Bolt was not a great athlete if he fails to deliver a top class sprinter of a son?

Nijinsky, Dubai Millenium, Nashwan, Mill Reef, Shergar, Rock of Gibralter.  All top class horses.  It would be nice to have seen them all race each other at their peak with top jocks onboard everyone.
