Long time reader who really enjoys this thread so thought id try my first bet

Stephen peters 5/1 sj  top northants batsman in cc div 2 for me he should be 5/2 fav .Northants had a nightmare season in div 1 last year when peters was captain.Without the shackles of captaincy and back in div 2 he looks the clear favourite to be top scorer imo.
The opposition
1.kyle coatzer 4/1 I don't even think he will get into the team when everyone is fully fit.
2,r levi 3/1 more of a 20/20 specialist cant see him been consistant enough to be top scorer in cc
3, rossington  9/2 came in late last season and did ok but still has a lot to prove
4,a wakely 6/1 was off all last year with injury and will probably take awhile to settle back in
5,r Keogh 7/1 a promising young player but still a lot to do to be in peters league
6,j cobb 8/1 another with promise but a lot to prove
7,r newton 10/1 a player whos shown a lot of promise with 6x 100 in 3 years ravaged by injury if he stays fit I think hes the main danger to peters
8,duckett  16/1 another promising youngster whos had some fitness problems and still a lot to prove to be in peters league
9willey 25/1 a really promising all rouder but he could be battiing as low as 8 or 9 this year so going toi be really hard to be top scorer from there

Take Prince Bishop out of the race and the others more or less finished where the form suggested they would. UAE horses have certainly.failed drug tests outside the middle east. How many times have they failed them at home?

I, being the ice cream that I am, have found a site offering odds of 10/3, for England to win their remaining 5 group E games. The fixtures are as follows:-

Slovenia (a)
San Marino (a)
Switzerland (h)
Estonia (h)
Lithuania (a)

The obvious difficult match is the next, Slovenia away, but if this can be negotiated I feel the next 4 are pretty much plain sailing. I'd imagine the San Marino, Estonia and Lithuania games would all have England as big odds on, and the other too as maybe 4/7, 8/15 region?

Could somebody please show me the error of my ways, and tell me this is an ice cream bet.

Estonia are of similar quality to lithuania so think its more likely 1/7. Cant imagine youll get anywhere near 1/2 against lithuania. Think they are all a bit shorter.

Drugs was an issue but the issue was americans werent allowed it. CC hasnt been itself since losing the triple crown attempt anyway. The pace was obviously all wrong, shown by african story's run compared to prince bishop. sub 50s for 800m on a course running slow was stupid. Thought the whole meeting was rather spoiled by pace issues, froggies were gifted races. Amazing place though, especially the quality of the turf course.

Think its worth a bet now theres only really one jolly to beat. In these markets Ive took the jockeys who are likely to at least ride enough to be competitive. You can all but rule out people with major owner dependant contracts riding through the meetings necessary to win this. I like Graham Lee he doesnt have to up his strike rate that much to be competitive. Also think fanning and morris maybe ok outside shots. (assuming most people ride similar volumes per period to last season)

Seems pretty childish, looks like hes dropped kane to make a point (or coz hes dodgy)

Odds on, but lots of firms priced up a lot shorter. I don't believe that England have ever conceeded a goal against a lowly ranked team, so this seems a decent odds on price. I can't see how England will even let the hosts have a decent chance, never mind letting one in.

They conceded a rather famous one vs san marino. There are more but the bet is fine. The only thing I would say in opposition is that taking best price about permutations yielded a better price for me doing this against san marino when I believe there was a similar soft price about a win to nil.

I have tried to use Google to find some relevant stats, like how many goals have been let in against lesser footballing nations. However, it's a stat that for me that I seem unable to find. I've been backing England to nil against nations like these for the last few years, it has from what I can remember ALWAYS been a winning bet. These aren't against lesser footballing teams like Poland, but the San Marino's, Moldova's, Estonia's and on Friday it will be Lithuania. I think it's a market that one or two firms don't get right. Ladbrokes priced San Marino to nil at 2/7.

However, you point regarding the famous goal that San Marino scored is quite pointless, I believe this was a very long time ago!

These are nations that are likely to be ranked 80th and lower. There is a 5-0 and 0-0 v Israel, but I don't believe that they would be in the categories of the above.

The stats are totally irrelevant and no idea why wales are there, they are better than montenegro who did score against us. fwiw lithuania are comfortably better than all but wales there

I didnt dispute it was a decent shout only that you said we never concede (stats that are pointless as its not even the same team) and that this price was optimal as with price boosts closer to the date you can prob bet 1-7 nil at a better price.
