And one inrtrepid player played the Brighton Main Event, bust out, then drove the 2 hour or so trek to Luton, & courtsey of the Alternate System, also played the Luton Main Event! That must be a first.
That was his third tournament of the night, I got told. I'm surprised to see Asy is second in chips. He's not usually one for tournaments.

The Times, Saturday January 26th, 2008.
"A hoard of more than a hundred false legs found in the cellar of a retired taxi driver in Dorset last August has been donated to victims of the earthquake that hit Pakistan in 2005......"
It wasn't their main present, just a stocking filler. That one made me laugh. So very wrong. =P

Compo has it dominated. I just hope he comes back with his mind on the game, because he mentioned he wouldn't get any sleep.
I think I understand why trap one didn't want to deal. He obviously felt it worthwhile to see J. McBride out. I don't disagree, I guess.

I've sort of fallen on my feet since I started dealing d/c games. I'm the least experienced of those of us in our crew that deal it, but I haven't really found it to be as gut wrenchingly difficult as I expected it was going to be. And, to be honest, if I can deal OH hi-low split then anybody can. And yes, Richard, a rank plc share save scheme. One well worth the investment! Last night was the first time i have had you deal to me in the dealers game and i think you did a great job. I was suprised to hear you have only been dealing it for 2 days as i assumed it was a lot longer as you did a great job. keep it up well done Thanks. Not so smooth tonight, though. Still. Could have been far worse.

I quite like the idea of this job advertised in my local paper.
Licensing Standards Officer. £20,353 - £24,308 Temporary until March 2010.
You will be responsible for enforcement of legislation relating to the liquor and gambling industries. You will preferrably have experience of working in a regulatory environment and preperation of reports for Committee/Court.
Problem is, I have no experience of working in a regulatory environment, or any of that preperation of reports stuff either. Do you think I would be able to blag it with experience of getting pisched and playing cards?
My mother works in the same line of work heading up the Licensing Department of a local council. She's on just under £50k a year with a company car. It's a good path for a career, but I don't know how you'd fare trying to get the job without prior experience.
