Amusing or wrong?

Let's forget gender for a minute. How many of you guys out there weren't a bit nervous and intimidated the first time you visited a card room? How would you have felt in that situation?

I know i was extremely nervous when i first went to play poker at a casino, if this had been the scenario with me I doubt i would have returned quickly.

Anyways, nowadays as Pokerron i am one of those tight players, and I have a reputation for it among all the regulars at my local Grosvenor. Everytime i act people say something along the lines "oh the Rocks in, I'd usually play this but nevermind", but its all in good nature, iv never been ganged up on and verbally forced to play hands i wouldnt usually, I try to make that image even stronger now as it works so well to my advantage.

walking into any cardroom for the first time when your on your own and you stick out is always scary it still is for me, i am lucky that i was in the army and can give banter back as good as i get it, but its still scary when everyone seems to know everyone apart from you

i always find having a chat with people on the table helps you work out who can and cant take a wind up and who is and isnt nervous
