Without doubt our player of the tournamnet without playing every minute... great strike. Encouraging football too.

I hope owen is okay ish (firstly for the start of next season, plus we need him to go far in the comp - for the sake of suspensions etc if nothing else)

Excellent goal.

I have a question.  If Crouch is the only 100% fit striker now.  Why don't they take off Rooney now to avoid potential injury. They could bring on Walcott.  After all they only need a draw in this match don't they.   At the start of the World Cup, all the focus was on Walcott. Now you never hear about him.  Does Erickson regret his decision to bring him to Germany?   Would it not have been better to take a player like Sheringham, even if he only played for half the match. At least he is experienced.

He must do. He brought 4 strikers. He rested one tonight because a booking would rule him out of the next game. Then one got injured. He had a choice of two players to bring on - the one with the booking hanging over his head, or Walcott. If ever there was a time to bring on Walcott in a situation which actually mattered, it was now. The fact he didn't speaks volumes.

Picking Walcott for the squad was the desperate act of a man with nothing to lose, looking for a long shot to come in to bring him glory. He messed up big time. Good riddence to Sven.

Anyway, time for this thread to be moved to another place, methinks.
