Today the charity Game for Life was added to the Register of Charities by the Charities Commission of England and Wales. Registration number 1108681.
Game for Life was founded and has been funded through the generosity of the poker community through the campaign Poker4Charity (
www.poker4charity.org) which is now run by Game for Life through its trading company Game for Life Enterprises Ltd.
Game for Life will still be awarding grants to other childrens charities and individuals as well as running its own projects i.e. a network of caravans to provide holidays for sick children and their families where they otherwise would not be able to have one. Game for Life has just taken delivery of its first caravan which will be situated in the North West of England.
Game for Life would like to thank all the poker players that have made all this possible and in addition the following corporate sponsors; VCpoker.com, Coral Eurobet, PartyPoker.com, TruePoker.com, Bluesqpoker.com, Masino Gaming, 1st Class Casino Hire, Poker-shop.co.uk, TheHendonMob.com, BlondePoker.com, PokerInEurope.com, Gustshot.co.uk, PokerEuropa Magazine, Crown Casino, Melbourne, Australia and the ACF, Paris, France.
In addition our gratitude goes to Benjamin James of Bircham Dyson Bell Solicitors (
www.bdb-law.co.uk) for their sterling work and legal expertise and to Grant IT (
www.grant-it.co.uk) for their IT advice.
A special mention should also go to a poker player, David Lloyd from Newcastle who designed the Game for Life logo. The child in the logo has been named Cosmo which means harmony in the universe.
We hope that the poker community will continue to support Poker4Charity and Game for Life in their joint aim of giving the world a chance.
