insta call...(again what's with the folding of queens here?)

If this is your standard tourney the players will like have the folling hands.

conway clubs calls you raise. he is CL so doesn't need to mess about and will have a half decent/ slightly marginal hand. KQ KJ or small pocketpair. (he could ofcourse be holding the Aces which I will get to later)

Bowlersammy goes all in. the boy found a big Ace...good for him. I'm taking him for AK AJ something like that....or pocket 8's or 9's.

the interesting one here is Dufe who calls the all in. I always assume he has atleast got an Ace...and it needs to be a hand to call with so AJ suited or better.

this means 2 aces will atleast be out  (Unless conway clubs holds pocket aces in which case they will all be out)

copnway still needs to decide and unless he's holding aces or kings he will fold as he doesn't need to get into a pot like this when he doesn't have the nuts pre-flop.

you therefore have to assume the aces and high cards are virtually out. 2 aces and probably a king or two. your queens (unless someone is holding Aces or kings) are very far ahead and it's an insta call every time.

if I have no read then I expenct him to be making this hige overbet push with a medium pair like 88 or AK, the blinds are small so you can chicken out if you want.

Is it a STT or a MTT, how many chips did you start with?

I'd probably call him and then get 2-outered by pocket quacks.

It's an MTT and we started with 1500 chips. The overbet didn't concern me as much as the UTG limp-call for over a 3rd of his chips.

Boldie i'm still not sure how you manage to put the UTG guy on A-J or better. Can you help me out here pls. I really thought he was misplaying aces (i.e. trying to get as many people into the pot as he could).

I figure the following. UTG doesn't raise but does call the all in..you have to give him credit for a hand and it is most likely to be a decent drawing hand.   AJ + suited is a fair enough hand to do this with IMO (some people will disagree but that happens). If he had had pocket pairs of any kind he would have stuck a raise in as he wants people out of the hand ASAP ..He doesn't stick the raise in which is a very good move with a suited drawing hand like AK so the boy clearly knows his ABC poker.

I explained why CL folded and am happy to see that he did...again I think I was justabout spot on with the marginal hand that he had.

I am happy to see you folded this one now (not because it was the right thing to do IMO but simply because you would have been knocked out)

the one misplaying the Ace rag suited was the all in guy...Ace 6 suited is still a rubbish hand unless you hit your flush...if you move all in with A6 and you get a caller he HAS TO have a better Ace then yourself.... Online you see this move way too often IMO and it's just sloppy play.

whenever someone posts a hand on the hand analysis board I assume the guys he's playing with at the table also know their ABc's...and if they do then the reading of the hands is ussually fairly straightforward. It's only with nutters (who'll play anything and don't mind a gamble)and guys who don't know how to play reading of hands like this is a problem.
