I have been playing poker for almost a year now and I have done ok , turning an initial £20 deposit into £2.5k in that time through stt and mtt s
I am finding though that as i learn and try to improve my game via books ,pnl, forum etc my results are getting worse.Still playing same buy in levels,£5-£10

I have seen other posters refer to a similar experience and I wonder if some of the more experienced of you could shed some light on it
Could I be over-complicating my thinking or perhaps its just good old variance?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated

Mac it is probably a bt of both. Also there are other players who have now played against you a number of times and will have made notes etc. etc. Remember during these times that you did not do much wrong in getting your bankroll to where it is now. I do remember that I went through a similar phase about a year into my poker life and what had happened was because I had read the books I had adapted my game and everybody knew what I was going to do. I went back to changing strategies to mix up their thinking........my word listen to me prattling on as if I have the slightest notion of what I am doing

The most insidious of rules are those that aren't rules at all.
They are the limitations that we invent for ourselves
