well i shall start again.
I think hypnotherapy or 4 weeks jail sentence can put me off the smoke.

It's easy Barry - read "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr. Do that, & you cannot fail.
Good Luck fella.

My aunt died today. She was a lovely woman. She used to live near us when I was a kid so we used to go round there quite a bit. I can remember how the house used to smell of smoke and wanting to play with the flashy lighters and ash trays and stuff. Like everyone she knew smoking was bad for her but she couldn't give it up.
She had a stroke a couple of years ago and almost died then. Her son in law is a doctor so she has had the best possible care from the best doctors, but even so she has been in constant pain ever since and literally going in and out of hospital every week or so with different things that have gone wrong with her. TBH it might have been better if she had died then as although her mind was OK most of the time pretty much all of her body was completely screwed up, some bits paralysed, other bits with sick painful infections. She had tons of operations which have mostly just led to other complications.
I don't know why they don't ban smoking. It does absolutely nothing for you except maybe give you a bit of confidence as a teenager cos you think it makes you look cool to other teenagers. At least if they legalised cocaine or something you would get a nice buzz for a couple of weeks before you slide into the long painful death.
Good luck to everyone who's giving up.

Thoughts are with you and yours.
My dad was the same he had a stroke 10 years ago and carried on smoking, he had suffered for years before that with bronchitis and pneumonia and eventually cancer got him, i know you can never say for sure all these were caused directly by smoking but it certainly didn't help thats for sure.

Just a quick bump on this thread, Vinni how are you doing?
My brother didn't follow the golden rule and he stopped smoking before finishing the book, as a result he is still smoking. I did try to inform him to just carry on smoking and read it but it was his choice.
As for me and Mrs Bar it will be 6 weeks tonight and the only side effects are that i now know who ate all the pies, which is the next thing to try and knock on the head.
P.S. Sofa have you stopped again after your Cigarette you had a couple of weeks back?
