Seen this last night.......WOW
Best film Ive seen in ages,visually stunning
with sets to comparable with Ben Hur
Mel Gibson should be proud
unmissable........10/10

I just got the dvd rip of this and will watch sometime this week, always been interested in the history of the Mayan kingdom.

I thought it was excellent.
Beautiful and visually arresting, very well paced, easily Mel Gibson's best film.
Might be inaccurate in terms of portraying the mayans but that's largely irrelevant. Many great works of fiction are historically inaccurate. That's the point about fiction. You have the licence to create, add, embellish, change, manipulate and shape a world of your own choosing.
What IS important is that having created the world, you stick to the internal rules and order of that world which i think apocalypto does well.
There's no deep thinking involved in the film. It's a pure white knuckle, adrenaline-pumping, bloody ride which looks and sounds great.
