I heard this news at 3am today, & I was immensely relieved. He's a good man, & has gone through an awful experience.
His BBC colleagues never ever gave up on him, they held vigils every Monday without fail, & Alan heard about these, as he had access to the BBC World Service while incarcerated. It must have been extraordinarily helpful & cheering for Alan to know he'd not been forgotten. In this day & age, a lovely story.
I think that kept him going, tikay. I'm sure the bbc was doing a lot of work behind the scenes also.
Very good news.
If they just find Madelaine McCann now that'll be awesome also.
