Blatent attempt at profiteering coming up:

If anyone's due or planning to fly with Virgin soon and not yet a flying club member (and want to help me earn a few more miles!) I can send you a referral if you PM me your email address.

Cheers

And here was me opening the thread thinking that you were looking for volunteers to help you remove the "virgin" tag when it came to clubs on aeroplanes............

Rant coming up:

Virgin flying club sucks.

I have been saving up air miles for years. I have over 300,000. I wanted to use them to book upper class flights to Sydney because the idea of flying all that way in cattle class is scary beyond belief. But would they let me? Would they hell. Despite it being an option on the flying club screen, I was less than politely informed I couldn't use flying club miles to go to Sydney.

They couldn't answer my question why it was an option on the website when they didn't allow it.

I'm with you there Keith. I've flown to Vegas about 5 times in the last years & everytime I've tried to use their Air Miles to get an upgrade, they've come up with a reason as to why I can't. I've now got enough miles for a free flight to Vegas but the dates I want to use in September are unavailable (are they telling me that the flight is full right now). It's fine if I want to go on one day in September & come back over a month later though!!!

To be honest, I wouldn't really bother with Virgin Miles. Apart from a lot of spam in your inbox, you won't get much else out of them!

get yerself on the skyteam with either KLM/delta/continental/northwest etc - all interchangeable, and you can upgrade at the checkin desk on even the cheapest of tickets.

And the crown rooms are nice placess to spend a couple of hours in an airport...
