Well would you adam n eve it, I somehow got an invite so looks like another weekend away.

Probably have to bring the whole family so if anyone has any ideas for entertaining a 5 year old girl in Birmingham please let me know.

Well, undoubtedly "Gramps" will bust out early, i'm sure he would love to regale her with epic stories of Steam powered transport through history.

Hey, at least she will sleep like a log.

"Gramps" is not sure to play, not decided yet. Norman Pace & Ed Giddens will both play for deffo, & we will all play Heads up stuff & SNG's after the comp. But I'm sort of head cook & bottlewasher for the Day, so I'm not sure if I'll have time to play. I'd probably be quite happy doing the Commentary on the PA, that Eck & Indestructable are sure gonna get some grief. Not as much as Norman & Ed, mind. Boy, they gonna SUFFER.

I have had my acceptance so I am in.

I may do a book signing at the event so if you want to bring any books along I am happy to sign them. Yellow pages, Harry Potter no problem.  Wink

Hi from Miami,

Just to pick up a couple of points: we decided to go down to two guests as it's easier to theme the nights (e.g. two Chelsea players, two soap actors, etc.). It also means we spend less time concentrating on the studio guests and move the focus to the home player.

There will still be room for the poker players at all levels to appear across the weekends and on 'player nights', when we can team two of you up together. Anyone who wants to come on the show is still very welcome and should let Tikay or me know.

Regarding the first live tournament - it is first come first served, as far as I am aware, and obviously aimed at those of you who have helped give us such a good start by playing regularly or appearing on the show. There will only be a small representative team from Sky Poker there doing some filming, so most seats will definitiely go to players.

We needed to set this one up fairly quickly (and a big thank you goes to Obi Wan Tikaynobi) and it is 'experimental'. We will be hoping to film a lot of the players as we want to give more profile to home players on the TV show.

As I think Tikay has said, we will hope to do this regularly and to take it around the country so that we can meet as many players as possible. There'll also be a series of Sky Poker roadshows happening and, eventually, some bigger tournaments.

Best wishes,

Vic from Miami

Received my invite...Alas work commitments mean I can't attend which is bloody annoying

As for my Sunday night spot prize... one of the weirdest tournies I've played in

down to 4k, on 500/1k blinds, pushed with A 4 called by a shorter stack with Q2 hit his Q down to 235

next hand all in with 5 2 hit my straight up to 705 ( on the river)

all in next hand with A 8 hit 2 pair on the river up to 2010

last hand before the break, all in with p holding up against 2 A+high kickers and up to 7230

climb up to 10k somehow through a few all ins not being called

and my going out hand, pushed with A 10 suited on the button, called by p9s and no help

Thoroughly enjoyed it, and many thanks to Sky ( in particular Carlo for his spot prize) for a fully enjoyable night

I got in too Cheesy

Space reserved for me!

Does the Broadway have car parking?  Was thinking of driving home afterwards as I'm in London the next day for the 20/20 cricket.

It has a huge UnderGround Car Park directly beneath the Casino, & it's CCTV controlled. It's free, too, simply get The Broadway Casino Reception Desk to validate your Parking Ticket.

If you don't have "Tom-Tom" or similar, the Broadway's website has directions, but it's on the Ring Road, opposite Tescos, just off Fiveways Island, & the Car Park is clearly signposted.

Had my acceptance confirmed and will be there for sure. Not sure yet whether or not to stay the night in the hotel.
For us mere mortals who havent yet developed a large bank roll what sort of level will the sit n gos be? If they are a manageable amount I would love to stay longer and crash at the hotel at some ungodly hour.
Must make sure I am back down South in time for Sundays Open to use the spot prize giddens gave me for winning with a pair of fours! (OK so a 300 raise on 30 bb was a tad excessive!)

Still need to get a decent win after blowing up big style in the £50k primo.

I look forward to introducing myself to Tikay this time so that he stops getting me confused with some bloke called Dave he met in Dublin!

On a general note, are there any plans to get more of a community going by introducing a forum to the website?

The Broadway SNG's on "Sky Day" will be whatever you & the guys comfy with. If you want £5, or £10, £20, then that's fine. Norman, Ed & myself will be on full-time SNG & cash-game duties  - Heads-Up, too if you want - as soon as the Tourney is over, & we've structured it to finish late Evening, to give folks time to get home if they so wish.

Forum? Yes, Sky are working on that already. There is a heap of stuff being Uploaded already, go to the "BLOG" tab on their Website & have a nosey around. The whole thing is about Community building, hence lots more Sky Days, & the Sky Roadshow will be rolling soon. They are building a Channel, not just a Show.

Look forward to meeting you Dave Goat.

Oopsy sorry about that one!
I already had the email window open to send to them just incase 44 came my way!

Things appear to be moving forward nicely. Glad to see you took my advice (as if it wasn't already in the pipeline!) from an email I sent in months ago and started Winners night getting some regular players onto the show.

I had a poke around on the blog the other day when it was mentioned, I noticed the tab disapeared yesterday so i am assuming somehting is being added to it again.

Keep up the good work there guys it got me back into poker again having not played since years ago when Late Night Poker was all the rage on Channel 4. Tikays and Normans constant references to Blonde introduced me to this site and having read the threads daily I feel like such a fish seeing the amounts alot of Blondites are winning in MTT's.

One day Goat, one day!!
