Stud Advice for a complete beginner

Ok, bored at work today so i'm playing some very low level stud cash games. I've only played a few hands in dealer choice home games and pretty much always pass early on cos I have no idea what to play.

What sort of hands am I looking for? Hidden pairs, 3 to a flush, 3 to a straight? What about big up cards, are they your chance to bluff?

And I take it if you can't beat your opponents up cards, just pass... don't bluff.

you can bluff if you can't beat others up cards, in fact that's a very good time to do it!!

Cool, that would be good. I'm doing ok so far just playing my big starting hands. No bluffing whatsover yet though.

Starting hands
I'd play any pair with Ace kicker, Pairs Tens or higher with any kicker. Three card runs minimum lowest card 6. Three cards to flush. Wired trips. If I had A or K as up card and passed to me from bring in I'd raise if foes show lower up card.

Fourth and 5th street.

Ditch st8s and flush draws if not 4 to a st8 or flush. Otherwise try and guess what my foe is going for or has.
 and bet accordingly. Works well in most low stakes games where the play is often clueless.
