WOW.  What a match.

Superleague play-offs.  Wigan have just managed to scrape into the play-offs needing to beat st helens to get into the top 6 and into the play offs.  They did just that with their best performance of the season.

Tonight, it was Bradford - at their place.  Where they've never lost in the play-offs.

Wigan got off to a shaky start, and it got worse.  Well behind coming out for the second half, they needed to score first.  They didn't.

Bradford 30-6 Wigan.

Game, set and match.

Wigan didn't even look like scoring again.  They'd been outplayed, and it was a question of how many points they'd lose by.  It was the first half of the Ataturk all over again, when Liverpool were 3-0 down to Milan, and being completely outclassed.

Then the unthinkable happened.  Mark Calderwood, who has given away two tries in the first half, goes and scores his first hat-trick for Wigan.  His last try bringing the scores level with 6 minutes or so to play.

Then Pat Richards, full-back for Wigan this season despite playing winger his whole career (he's been immense this season, and the goal-kicker for Wigan, again something he hadn't done before), scores a drop-goal to make it 30-31 to Wigan with only 5 minutes to play.  Bradford have a chance to score near the end, but the ball comes loose, and it's all over.

GET IN!!!

If you hadn't guessed, I'm rather happy and excited.

Unbelievable game.  Wigan scored 24 points in 17 minutes.  I didn't think we had a chance when it was 30-6.

Spoke to Booder after the game.  He's well chuffed too.

Incredible game and incredible naivety by Bradford in not kicking for one point at the end and taking the game to overtime, not one player seemed to realise they didn't need to score a try.

I only managed to catch the last 25mins, was a really good comeback. Wigan deserved there victory but Bradford really messed this up, resting some key players when they thought the game was in the bag, and not going for the 1 pointer.

Good to see Bradford sent packing!
