Can any one help me?
Turned on PC this morning and recieved message that 'keiro Personal firewall trial over switching to temp programme' (guess computer a year old) still running in tray bottom right of screen. Windows Xp firewall also seems to be running in same tray. Getting lots of connection messages for Keiro trusted area etc (Have never had one of these for Windows Firewall). Also PC making noise like the phone connection banging in and out but seem to be staying connected to Broadband.
Should I dissconnect Keiro and rely on Windows firewall?
Should I worry about funny noise?
Please excuse my ignorance in this area, and if any one can help I would be eternally greatful.

What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?

Id get rid of Keiro and get Zone Alarm
http://tinyurl.com/94j59
or Sygate
http://tinyurl.com/d2kd
Turn of the windows firewall too. The apps are much better
edit: If you are after a free antivirus -
http://free.grisoft.com/
- no need to pay for such things
And the noise, I dont know Im afraid. Computer faxes still make a modemesque noise but thats just a random comment.

Although
AVG
anti-virus is very good, IMO avast! anti-virus is much better and can be found
here
Both are free
Also they don't conflict with each other, so you can use both of them on your computer.

Ive never had the problem of Sygate not letting me access a site, a program yes but not a site.
Messenger is an application though, have you got Sygate set to accept it? If you try and open it (try with ebay too) then open sygate, it should show either in the Running Applications window (that opens when you double click the icon in the system tray) or in the log. You should be able to grant it access from here.

I hope you are not suggesting I open her up lol. Fan is running, but I aint going inside I'm just not qualified.
No noise is defo a port/connection exactly the sound I used to get, when getting disconnected using dial-up. Believe me I remember it well. "Umm aces" "Click" "Nooooooo"
Thanks again.
