only problem with miss mercier is she's never won anything, absolutely nothing of note.  How can they continue to sponsor her??

In my opinion, being sponsored isn't just about winning events, it's also about being a good figurehead for the brand you are fronting, whether that's in terms of likability, popularity, etc or simply the amount of TV/media time you are likely to be exposed to.
