Sigh......
Afer all I've done for that damn man......
He turns up at the studio in jeans & sandals, no sock, then announces we are going to Palm Beach for the £250 Freeze. NO BRIAN, not like that. So I take him to Oxford Street, he buys trousers & shoes, & we get into Palm Beach safely. Damn Americans. Brian's got no sterling, just $$'s, so I give the registration bloke £550 (2 entries plus juice). He says £1,050 please, it's £525 each. Sheesh, I'm a bit short of readies, so I gotta be careful now with a trip to Dublin planned. (Brian paid me the £525 later).
I played on the same table as Brian, he was in awesome form, bullying & bluffing from the very first hand.
I got lucky early, cracking JJ with TT, & started to mix it up with Brian, & actually got the better of him several times with shown bluffs. It'a bit easier to do this when well chipped up.
But then my AA got turned over by Mrs Bambos's JJ, & I was down to acerage stack again, & now Brian got the better of me, no argument about that. Then he did me good & proper.
I Raised with

He, in the blinds, just calls. Flop is

,
He checks, I shoulda bet, but I sensed he was trapping me. Check.
Turn is

He moves all in. I've got K high, & two "overs", with 1 card to come. I let go. He shows.....

I got outplayed there good & proper. I should have bet the flop, or called the turn bet.
The slowplaying allegatiions. It's half true, actually. The light was genuinly bad, & my eyes were in bad shape, they have been for a few weeks now. I flop THE absolute nuts with
on a flop of

Geezer moves in with his

And me, thinking the Ten was a 9, give it a 30 second dwell up, eventually putting the guy on AK & deciding to call. Only then did I realise that the flooppd 9 was a Ten......
Later, 4 way action, horror board, we all check it down, the board is Q high, I got QJ. Theres that awkard moment when nobody wants to show their hand, I inadvertently pick the J out of my hand, so Ian Dobson says "pair of 2's must be the nuts" & goes to collect the pot. THEN I realise I've shown the wrong card, & I've got top pair.
Oops...
PS - Brian - I am supposed to be in Dublin on Thursday, but I'm gonna have to delay by 24 hours, I don't feel well enough to travel. See you Friday.
