Well yesterday was definatly the strangest day at work i've ever had,i'am a B.A engineer working at terminal 4.I was going along minding my own business waiting for my shift to end so i could go to the pub when my mobile rang."get yourself down to 429"the end stand of t4 and there it was,one of our 777's lying in a crumpled heap.
Fire engines, ambulances, police cars flying by"Jesus christ i hope everyones ok,PLEASE don't catch fire,XXXX i hope i didn't sign that one out yesterday"truly a surreal day.So now we have found out that no one was seriously hurt(thank god)it's time for the aftermath,as it looks like it definatly an engineering problem. We often take he piss out of the nigels(pilots)but it certainly looks like this guy saved the day,i take my hat off to him.

The company I work for make lots of parts for the innards of the Trent 800 Rolls-Royce engines on the plane.

Just hope it wasn't the engines - time will tell.

If the assumptions are proved to be true and the plane suffered a catastrophic system failure then the pilot really does deserve all the praise in the world.
