im no expert on spam/dodgy emails,I thought i was immune to em but i got one this morning

from paypal

telling me i just purchased a gold bracelet for $100,and if there is a problem ,if i dispute the sale ( why would i , if i bought it ?? ),then just click this link ,to some obscure email address>?

I checked my paypal account and nothing going on there nor on ebay?

dodgy spam email?? or a kinda phishing email>?

more likely a phishing email trying to get your paypal password

i get them all the time on email address not linked to my paypal account

I've had a few of these as well.  Ebay/Paypal have a link to report these if you feel the need.  They, understandably, are quite keen to cut them out.

A quick word of warning on these, people are getting quite clever by registering web addresses that are very similar to e-bay / paypal and you could miss this at a glance. They also copy all of the graphics etc to get you to log into "your account" on what looks just like your correct login screen, thus giving them your login and password.

What you did was perfect, go direct and do not follow the links. This way you know you have gone to the correct site. Watch this for any sites where you use any sort of direct financial transaction as they are all open to this type of fraud.
