Don't listen to the haters. Smiley

If you are disciplined, intelligent, and you have the desire to succeed, anything can happen.

Prove them wrong!

Good luck.

Sometimes you have to suffer a little bit in your youth to motivate yourself to succeed in later life.
Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school, do you think there'd be a Microsoft?
Of course not.

EDIT: Is it okay with the moderators if I use this thread as a kind of diary to update my progress?

You don't need permission to run a diary on blonde, it's entirely your choice. Avoid Posting Bad Beat stories though, they don't go down too well.

Good Luck.

My original goal was far to high to exceed. I had a good think about this last night/early hours. I need to break the goals down which I'm gonna do. The poster on the forum has set his goals as follows (not keen on monetary but oh well) :-

Yr 1 - 0 to 20k
Yr 2 (present) 20k to 100k. Currently at around 60k playing $3 and $6, not $4 and $8.
Yr 3 - 100k to 300k
Yr 4 - 300k to 500k
Yr 5 - 500k to 1m

Even if I broke my plan into a five year plan that will still be near impossible to achieve! So I'm thinking of setting small goals like satelliting into the PLO8, Razz and 2-7 Triple Draw WCOOP events.

I have the desire to succeed, but ifm can tell you from personal experience, that I had this same problem with darts. I joined the PDC before I was ready and I flopped. This is slightly different, but i think its good that people have tried to keep my feet on the ground.

Dont really appreciate blunt comments like [ ] This will happen, but I'll let them off.

As I've said before, this is just something to keep me focused. Because I haven't got a lot of things in life that I'm focused on. This will kill a lot of time and COULD be profitable. Will only know if I give it a go. I'll update on progress on a weekly basis anyway, not just posting hands but how I feel the weeks have gone etc.

1) 20x Buyin for cash games (standard really for recreational players)

i had a 20 BI downswing last month, it may have been standard 2 years ago but the games are much tougher now

yeah, couldnt help but lol when i read the 20* buyin bit. Nowhere near enough im afraind buddy, not if you want to cushion urself for the long-term. Iv had 20bi downers before, and breakeven stretches over 50k hands. It happens, shit happens, u need a bigger roll.

Quite an innocent mistake I assure you Smiley It's difficult to know what is what, especially when books like The Poker Mindset have only been out 18 months. But I'm fast realising that 18 months is a long long time in Online Poker.

My understanding of metagame needs to be pulled up to scratch as it seems I'm a little bit behind.
