Watched this last night and I almost cried at how horrible it was. At the end when "son of Indiana Jones" put on THE hat a distinct shiver ran down my spine.
Agree with the WTF monkey-swinging fiasco. No doubt the film appeals to the captive and super-intelligent American market.

If you dont take it too seriously I think its ok, very tough to produce any film that would match the hype...

It was ok, effects and stunts were good but it lacked the humour we normally get with indy films.
There have always been the over the top scenes so the monkey bit was fine imo.
I think the plot was the problem but what do you expect from George Lucas?
I liked it, not the best indy but there are much worse films out there.

Agree about the plot, it was very weird. "Must return skull to Aliens to get great power". But hold on a minute, who gives a fcuk about some dotty Aliens...and what a shit power...you die. Why would you even entertain taking the manky skull anywhere? So crap.

If I hold my breath I can write three lines about this film before the emotion of WTF wells up in my eyes. By the way the monkey thing was not ok, it was very bad. And the sad way acting hero Ray Winston has fallen from grace is pitiful, his death scene is pure WTF. Sorry can't continue.....
Sean Connery has the most kudos in this film, for staying on the golf course.

Went to see it last night. I was prepared for the worst... but actually thought it wasn't too bad. Apart from several "but that's just stupidly unfeasible" moments (going down three huge waterfalls without a scratch - last waterfall was a carbon copy of Niagara falls, in the Amazon rainforest, which was cunning). I bet there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth from Lucas when National Treasure II came out, what with the whole City of Gold storyline. The motorbike chase and the jeep/lorry chase through the jungle were entertaining though.
6.5/10. No Raiders of the Lost Ark it was, but no Phantom Menace either.

For me it was a 6 out of 10, the space ship just wasn't needed. If they had just cut that one scene, I might have come away happier as the film still had it's moments.

Extremely disappointing. Not a patch on the previous films in the franchise.
