My name's Adam and for my sin's I work as a freelance writer mostly in gaming. In a flash of brilliance, i.e. racking my brains for new ideas to pay the bills, I came up with the idea of doing a feature on superstition in poker. Thus I'm interested in any superstitions you might have, lucky clothes, charms etc. In particular I'd be interested in stories of famous poker players you know who have superstitious beliefs, the more interesting the better. I read
Barry Greenstein's book and found it very interesting that he thinks it's good to have sex before playing poker, so I make sure to take my blow up doll with me when I travel around playing tournaments. Sometimes I take it into the casino with me hidden in my man bag and blow it up quickly in the toilets just before the cards are dealt and again if I make it to the first break.
