Hi All,

My name's Adam and for my sin's I work as a freelance writer mostly in gaming. In a flash of brilliance, i.e. racking my brains for new ideas to pay the bills, I came up with the idea of doing a feature on superstition in poker. Thus I'm interested in any superstitions you might have, lucky clothes, charms etc. In particular I'd be interested in stories of famous poker players you know who have superstitious beliefs, the more interesting the better. If you want to be quoted for the article please include your real name. Thanks for your help.

Adam

Hi Adam

I read Barry Greenstein's book and found it very interesting that he thinks it's good to have sex before playing poker, so I make sure to take my blow up doll with me when I travel around playing tournaments. Sometimes I take it into the casino with me hidden in my man bag and blow it up quickly in the toilets just before the cards are dealt and again if I make it to the first break.

I am happy for you to write about this in your magazine. My name is Kevin Shepherd.

Regards

Kev

If that's true I have one ex boyfriend who should be world champion of poker by now. And he's not even close (and I've had to say that more than once). Enough said. Moving on....

An ex of yours used to carry around a blow-up doll and take it to poker tournaments?  No wonder he's an ex.

Oh how I wish this wasn't a family forum.....

are you implying he found someone with better conversation skills?

I think he got the job managing Kettering Town for a short period...
