What hand would you rather hold playing deep stacked pot limit omaha?

6789 double suited

or

7789 single suited

6789 double suited - more straight draw possibilities and two flush draw possibilites. No full house possibilities but to make a full house with the 7789 you need a 7 to be on board with a pair (you could have 3 of a kind on board but you are v.likely to be behind to a higher full house)

If the flop came 998 the both hands would have a full house surely?

in a multiway pot the 6789ds is a hand i prefer

small pairs in omaha are a recipe for disater when you try to protect your set

sorry, meant no additional full house possibilites - but then noticed that the 6789 has extra if the board comes 66 with either 7 8 or 9 - but then you dont want 667 as the 7789 will beat you!!

Ahh, I see what you mean now.

I think I'd prefer 6789ds as you are more likely to make a hand you are happy to go all the way with.

not necessarily - i'd still be very catious if i hit my flush as its likely someone would have the higher flush, the same if i had the low end of the straight draw (for instance on a 9-10-J or 10-J-Q flop).

Obviously the only hand your safe with is something like 3-4-5 or 4-5-6 rainbow.

I thought 6789 would be the choice.

Only asked coz I'm more of a fan of the 7789 type hands at the moment. Made a lot with set, staright draw flops recently and lost a lot with made straight flops.
