I'm not a huge fan of the play, but maybe getting 5-1, you could argue just to call and see the turn?

I don't know if this is better than folding, but perhaps it's better than shoving?

The problem with this play is that if player still to act has a made hand he is shoving and you need to call then to see the turn. The only time the player who is still to act lets you see the turn for free is when he also has a draw which is clearly a worse situation than when he shoves his set/2 pair.

Apologies if I have read this wrong and we are last person to act in which case I'd agree there is some merit to just calling and seeing the turn when we are getting 5-1 on the call.

This isn't true, there is effectively no more action once you call! the guy who raised you can only call the all-in, he can't raise on top of it. Therefore you are guaranteed to see a flop!

dont raise with these hands if when you almost hit the perfect flop your gonna fold...theres not many better flops you could have seen
