Just throwing it out there and if there is not enough interest obviously it can get scrapped. I'm looking to put up $300 that I can lose 30lbs by the 1st October 2009. Obviously would sell of in chunks of $10 and the rules are simple if I win and lose the weight I keep the mobnies if I lose I pay out up to $300 for those that have bought action ie you bought $30 you get your $30 back plus $30 more.

I am doing this for motivation as I realise it is quite a big task.. obv the money would be nice to win but the change in health and lifestyle would be awesome, the offseason for hockey has started up and im dreading not keeping fit and piling back on the pounds... I'm currently 25 yrs old 245lbs(17.5stone) , 5ft 11 BMI of approx 33 and have been obese pretty much since i hit high school. In the last year through regular exercise i have lost approximately 20lbs solely through exercise however bare in mind this is a year and not the 3 months.

I am happy to meet with another scottish blonde for supervised weigh-ins and the bet stands no matter if i take ill etc. If I am not on or below 215lbs (15 stone 4lbs) I lose the bet and payout simple as that.. I am happy to keep the monie in escrow with someone trustworthy until the deadline.

Please feel free to ask any questions and if you want any action please post below...

If you get the weigh-ins and the escrow sorted then I'll help out and bet $10 against you.

I don't really want to bet more because I'm not very rich and I'm probs kinda hoping to lose the bet. If it was $20 the nit in me would want you to fail.

I've heard of people doing the same thing with sitngo volume.

Escrowing a 4 figured sum to a pal with the instruction to donate it to some political douche that the grinder completely despised if he didn't play X amount of games that month.

I went from 18st 4 to 15st 10 which is 36 pounds lost in 10 weeks a few years ago so I know that this is achievable.

I also know that it's ridiculously difficult and takes dedication.

I did it with weight training 6 days a week and eating very healthily and cutting out beer completely. My daily consumption was approx 5500 calories but it was all healthy stuff designed to pack on muscle whilst losing excess fat. It was a diet but it was a very healthy diet.

How are you intending to achieve this?

I'd happily have a little bet to help encourage you but won't do it if I think your diet plan looks dangerous in any way.

Upping my exercise big time schedule so far looking like this .. going from hockey twice a week currently to Ea sports active 1h daily , 1 night of 5's , 2x hard skating sessions.

Substituting water for fizzy drinks is the main diet change.. also making sure my meals aren't junk ensuring I get my 5 a day.

Is this going to be a yo-yo diet?

Do you plan to keep the weight off? If so, how?

nope not a yo-yo diet.. As i said in the original post i've taken up a sport since the first time since school and went from 19 1/2 stone down to 17 1/2 in the space of a year.. I reckon shifting the weight and getting fit will go hand in hand and plan on keeping it off generally by good lifestyle choices and training / games.
