Kalooki

are there may people on here that play Kalooki on line too? Kalooki seems to be the game of choice whilst waiting for a casg game / tourney to start, I am just curious how many blondites play too.

I found it at Royal rummy, i dare not post a link. the rules variation seems different from the ones the guys play live but still the basics are there

I play on royal rummy sometimes.  They have 2 different versions of kalooki.  Kalooki 40 and Kalooki 51.  Kalooki 40 is what I play in Glasgow, I think the differences are in 40 you need 40 points to come down and in 51 you need 51 points but in 51 you can pick the discarded card last thrown without having to come down.  In both online you can play the Ace as part of the low straight

Kalooki 40 - 40 points required to come down initially, you cant pick a card from the discard pile unless you use it in a meld.
Kalooki 51 - 51 points to come down initially, you can pick the top card from the discard pile at any time without having to immediately play it.

Both allow for Aces to be played as part of the low and high straight, in our local rules he only allow is as part of the high straight.

I play online, I deposited once before kalooki 40 was introduced however was a bit suspect of the random draw of cards lol so just play the freeroll or for fun.

I think I have to disagree with Boba though in kalooki 40 ace is high only I am sure

For online you may be right, I havent played online for a while.  It can def be used as a low in Kalooki 51 online though.
