WHY WHY WHY have wome/seniors only events in poker

I heard a fantastic comment on a WPT event , can't remember which commentator said it but pee'd myself laughing,   Phil Ivey " what a great personality" ,  watched the whole tape and he never muttered 1 word all tournament.

Main Event  6600 runners =  66000000  6%   rake 3960000    seems nearly 4million rake is a bit steep to me
