Dear All,

The mid stakes seem to be the most popular way to go - we hit 63 runners and £5500 with at least 20 people only paying the £50+£15 for value, without really trying too hard, so from next month onwards we will be concentrating on big value for low stakes and dispensing with the £750 buy in. Player feedback suggests everyone likes the ability to enter a big pool for a low to medium buy in, dealer dealt.

Therefore we will be running as follows (schedule will be on Hendon, Pokerineurope etc soon) -

Super Stack Series Leg Three (and every month thereafter) - 11th-13th September
3 DAY EVENT!! - Choose your starting day!

£50 + £15, Dealer Dealt, 5000 stack, One Rebuy (if less than 50% of starting stack) AND One Add-on of 5000 after four levels of play.

DAY 1a - Friday 11th September - Start time 7.30pm, registration from 6.30pm, late registration up to 8.30pm. Capacity 200, play will go down to 9 players.

Day 1b - Saturday 12th September - Start time 3.30pm, registration from 2.30pm, late registration up to 4.30pm, Capacity 200, play will go down to 9 players.

Day 2 - Sunday 13th September - FINAL - start time 2.00pm (it is anticipated that there will be another tournament on this day in addition)

This structure will enable a potential prize pool of between £10,000 and £30,000 depending upon the number of players and rebuys/add ons. For a minimum buy in of £50+£15 and dealer dealt this represents massive value.

888.com will be holding DAILY QUALIFIERS from later this week, at a $10 rebuy cost, split into tickets of £65.

Feedback from Friday was very positive so we look forward to growing this low-mid stakes tournament schedule. Obviously we have to cater for up to 25 dealers and have minimum charges to arrange them, so we do insist on registration through the LPC site - www.londonpokercircuit.co.uk - this will be updated tomorrow, however please select the Friday or Saturday dates (11th/12th September) irrespective of the buy in stated on there. We do not make much money on this due to the running costs as we are unable to run cash games as per our restricted operating licence - therefore we will be running a huge menu of sit n' gos including 6 seat, 10 seat hold'em and also turbos on all days and for all pockets!

We will post more news on these events this week.

Thank you

Phil

Too late!....very disappointing.....but after 30 odd last month, only 22 turned up this month!
It was a fantastic 2 day deep stack event,.....but unless its supported, you can't expect LPC to keep it as a monthly event.
Hopefully if the new format takes off, then they could do a deepstack/larger buy in, every 4-6 months?

Without slandering the fella Cos (ie if he's crap say it subtly and with class lol) what's Warne like as a player?

He's a good bloke and we had a bit of banter with him in the bar before the game. Me and Sunny (Free_Rollin) were watching the Chelsea match and he asked the barmaid to turn it onto the cricket. Not in my town we don't Shane! The Chelski are staying on the box tyvm!

As it goes I'd heard Shane never passes a hand pre flop so to two to his right I was quite happy but actually he was pretty tight - with most of the action being between me, Sunny, Woody Deck and Jim Reid. He may have played one or two small pots in the first hour or so before he made a very bad bluff which kinda highlighted his inexperience and I think he's too easily picked off against good players. His bet sizing is certainly more normal than Dimi Mascarenhas who was blasting pot sized bets into anything he had a piece of.

He raised in early position and got 2 callers. The flop came AA3 with two diamonds and Shane made a continuation bet. Only the BB called and the turn came a complete blank, a black 6. BB checked and Shane clicked it back. The river came a raggy diamond and the BB led for around 2k and Shane raised to 6k, quite quickly. The BB snapped with a flush (as any of us would have) and Shane mucked. It was just an awful spot for Shane to be bluffing as the BB either had a flush or an Ace and how the hand played out I wouldn't have laid down either one. That perhaps highlighted his inexperience and after that pot his stack was cut in half in the first level.

Subsequently, he didn't play a hand until his exit (when I was actually away from the table) but he limped UTG with QQ and got it in vs JJ following a raise, reraise and all in only for a jack to hit the turn. Shame really as I've always admired Shane hugely as a cricket fan and was looking forward to playing some hands with him and him chatting a bit. Unfortunately he was quiet in terms of chat and playing hands once he took his initial hit and that was that.

All was not lost though...Albert Sapiano was a late registrant and took his seat!

Hi chaps,

Thanks for coming on the weekend. Sorry about the £750 but we are bleeding money away like crazy. Nick's right though - if we get this other one pumping then we may look at a bigger buy in somewhere in the future. If we get the numbers for our new event we can start satellites into the big ones.

Whatever the case, we will do our best to stay around and to offer fun, value tournaments.

Cheers

Agree with Greekstein, it's dissapointing to see the £750 getting scrapped. I really enjoyed playing it over the weekend, and I hope you guys are able to do something to try and bring it back soon!

Also Phil, are the results published anywhere for the weekend?
