How much should I be paying for a web design.

Nothing too fancy
 - a description of what we do  (employment agency)
 - a link for sending us a cv
 - a page of links to useful websites
 - a link for sending timesheets
 - an updateable by me page for current job opportunities

I've been quoted c£500

Speak to Bongo - but that's probably not far off.

You've not mentioned the cost of site promotion in that.  Have you set aside a budget for it, got it all covered, or have you not considered how you're going to get people to the site?

Advertise on a few of the websites out there where you tender for peoples work. Outline what you need and people say what they have done before and how much they will charge you. Its a great way to get stuff done by experts and at a good price.

It doesn't sound too bad, but it does depend on the details, i.e. are they competent, is the updateable page easy to use.

I see kin has got his sales pitch in too Wink He makes a good point though, as most sites won't attract visitors without some form of marketing plan.

LOL - it wasn't actually a sales pitch. I don't want clients who don't want the work doing (if you know what I mean).  Convincing someone they need my services means trouble further down the line.
