Freeview + boxes help please.

Does anyone have any experience of these boxes?

Are they any good/reliable?

Basically my parents old video recorder has broken, and i'm trying to ease them in to the technological age. They do not want sky so a sky plus box is out.

They have recently got a new tv so i thought a freeview + box would be the easiest thing for them to use as they are not very good with technology.

Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

Yeah get a decent one of those, not sure which one my nan has but she loves her "dig-it-al".

I had one in the flat I moved out of last week for a year or so.  There about as easy as they can be, they look more like the Virgin interface than Sky, but basically look like a cheap version of Sky (talking about on-screen menu's etc).  

We had a problem with our aerial which caused some channels to be fuzzy/not work, but once we had that changed everything recorded fine.

We paid £80 for it xmas '08 so not sure what price they are now.

Certainly worth getting for us, and although now I'm trying to decide whether to get Sky as we now have a house, I wouldn't hesitate keeping it except for the obvious problem of not being able to get all the sports channels.

Nah not entirely sure what she has to be honest, she's had a couple though when she moved house etc and they've all been good.

if they're soap fans the series link option will be ideal for them, the one we had also has a decent memeory capacity, we never went over it with 50+ shows on there, not sure of make/model, will check later
