So Walmart actually hired this 75 year old guy based on that application. The place must be a tip. Or a really depressing place to work with zero humour if this this guy's gonna be the joker in the pack.

It's merry and all, but I'm not buying that they hired him.

I remember seeing a fast food one about 6 years ago, similar idea, and it too was accompanied by a statement along the lines of "they actually hired him anyway because he was so funny"

I think that's just something that gets attached to chain gags of this sort.
