Ok
well I tanked farily hard on this.
I was genuinely surprised when he checked it to me, im pretty sure it was the first time he hadnt c bet (against a non small stack who had flatted).
I thought that he would bet if he hit any part of the flop with 1 pair, so took those hands outs of his range. He could have flopped a set but 44 and TT are v unlikely so other than 77 i wasnt too concerned.
I was very focused on the 89 potential, and knew that he would be capable of bluffing as played. Also 88 99 are in there too.
I just couldnt see how I was beat, and figured I had played the hand so weak that he didnt have me on AT, and that he thought I could well have air too. Therefore, if he had nothing there was only 1 way to win (although I guess he could have led into me).
So I called
he showed A4 - sigh
there is a good follow up hand which i will post later
You think he bets the flop with any pair 4's 7's and 10's so take them out of his range, but leave 8's & 9's in his range?? If you take those pairs out using the same logic what hands are you seeking value from with your river value bet?
