A while back on blonde a thread started about a new Poker Club in Glasgow, & it generated huge interest, over a long period.

Well I have got news of a new Poker Club opening in London during the next 3 or 4 weeks.

It will be a Card Club - NOT a casino - and it is going to called "EQUAL CHANCE". The venue is currently a pool or snooker hall, trading under the original title of "Frames".

It is in Walthamstow - near St James Street I believe.

I met several of the partners in the venture whist at Gutshot last night, & they seemed sound enough guys.

The club will be a Gutshot style affair. I discussed with Derek Kelly, the brains behind Gutshot, if he saw the new venture as a threat to Gutshot, but Derek simply said he wished them well - in fact, it was Derek who introduced me to the guys.

I am terrible with names, but I do recall Billy Wheeler, & John O'Donnell. I have their phone numbers, but obviously I wont post them here.

So there you go, another Card Club for the venue starved Londoners. Got to be good news, surely?

If anyone has any other news on this venture, keep us posted please.

I fully expect the WSOP to create a massive upsurge in poker interest, so new venues have to be a good thing.

I just wish someone would open something in colchester.. i mean the catchment is huge, the nearest casino is southend, which is a good hour and half away. Ipswich, Clacton, Chelmsford  would all be drawn in ... it would be a goldmine.

Ah, in the sleepy hamlet of Colchester......

I think that once the lagality issue is resolved with the Gaming Board, you will see dozens of such clubs springing up. Supply & demand always finds a way.

actually apart from gaming board restrictions on casino placement ( which to my knowledge have been ameneded in recent years anyway) the reason most towns dont have a casino is due to ancient by-laws in individual towns across the UK. If a company is determined to open up in a town they can ask for them to be altered as most are out dated and refer to gaming houses rather than actual casinoes as such.

Bit of knowledge for ya lol Who says i know jack shit about my Job lol bet i suprised a few of ya there huh?
