Anyone done an online divorce b4? Any good?

What about the clean break order, any done that?

Are there any solicitors on here that can warn about the perils?

Finances can be complicated, don't trust online thingies. I got a divorce specialist to sort out my stuff.

Its all pretty amicable on that point and the ex got the @rse when I said I wanted to do it properly with clean breaks etc

'You don't trust me?'

'Its not that I don't trust ya, but I don't trust you!'
I've found the best thing for this is a nice piece of hickory....maybe a pick axe handle or similar!!

If there is any financial dispute, or any animosity in the split, or if there are kids involved, then I'd speak to a lawyer.

My divorce was very amicable, we'd sorted out all the finances, no kids involved, and we're still friends.  The online divorce thing was ideal for us as it was the cheapest option for the form-filling exercise.  But it definitely depends on the situation.

Mate I've done it. Was cheap and pretty straight forward assuming you have got everything agreed with your ex.

Yeah everything amicable, but like u say there are kids involved - and although (mostly) amicable, it is a bit of a tinderbox...

How fast did your Divorces come through by doing it online?

Pffft, can't remember exactly. It won't be any quicker as there are certain time lines that have to be met, you will however save a bundle by not using a face to face lawyer, you do it via email correspondence and filling out the forms your self.

Still takes quite a while.  The online bit is just some of the admin.  You still both have to fill in paper forms that will come through in the post, and if anything is contested then I guess that's when it gets messy or you need legal advice.  That could be especially true with the bit about children and access, etc.  Which Ray quite rightly pointed out I am not qualified to comment on.
