Right, on the holiday we had around four problems with cameras in the end we had to purchase pro pics to make sure we had at least some decent ones. You also got the disk with photos on, the problem is when I put this disks into my laptop it does nothing, zilch...........

At first I thought they had by mistake given us blank disks so took them to mother in-laws and they load instantly on her lappy.

Plus another ongoing problem is that I can not put to disk piccys off my laptop and I really am worried about loosing these too if the lappy plays up any more.

Is there I a setting that maybe turned off?.

You might have auto play switched off - can you view them in windows explorer? (windows key + e is quickest way to open it)

If you can't write disks too it could be that your drive is broken... Can it read other CDs?

Easy solution to prevent loss of images would be to take a copy on your MiL's computer, that way she will have one too.

So it reads other CDs? Does it read other CDRs or just bought CDs? I've seen some have problems with CDRs. Is the disc a DVD and your drive only a CD?

Also you can buy a USB memory stick for very little money now (some 4GB ones on amazon for a 5er), I wouldn't use them for long term storage but they would be ideal for transferring the photos to another PC for a archiving.

OK, so today I have successfully played a CD-RW + DVD on this lappy. The pictures are on CD's.
