I am currently part of a committee organising our Christmas Ball.  We've got most things tied down, but we are looking for decent companies to assist/provide the following at reasonable prices:

Decorate a large hall and entrance area in Xmas theme (complete with Grotto).  Traditional snow theme or balloons etc

Bingo machine hire (or similar for running a Xmas Draw)

Table magicians (or even better, fire-eaters etc)

Comedian (must be very good, not too weird, as can be tough audience)

Company that can do 'ladies favours'/boutique gift type stuff

Anyone in electrical wholesale that can do good deals for prizes?? (I have quite a large prize fund to spend)

For that matter - anyone with a leisure/service type business that can sell vouchers for prizes?

I have confirmed lots of stuff already and these are a few of the outstanding issues. I can quite easily google alot of these answers, but (knowing there are lots of different businesses/backgrounds represented on here) would rather go on the strength of a recommendation or push business the way of someone on the forum.

I'm sure I may come back with some more requests to add to the list!

Many thanks

This magician is fantastic for close up table magic, I've seen him many times, he based in Doncaster but works wherever.

If you were based in Doncaster you'd work anywhere as well.

Assume it's a mess ball Lee so am surprised previous PMC/PEC's haven't already got a contacts folder/file for just these occassions.

I helped organise a couple as PMC and as PEC during my time.

The decoration could surely be done in-house and be a lot cheaper, always some young soldiers looking to make a few extra bob in ED pay.

I created something similar with a Grotto which I used a 9'X9' and decorated with coloured crepe paper and cotton wool and the likes. Found it was appreciated more if the members knew it had been done by their colleagues. Externally done will cost a fair wee bit.

Mind you us Infantry types where never afraid of a wee bit work and being Scots, where tight as hell until it came to using funds for alcohol  Wink
