I have just watched this film/documentary and loved it, how come I haven't watched this before? Anyone else like it, or have similar gems that have past me by.... Also this weekend I watched (for the first time) One night in Turin.
How have I missed these by, surely there are more. Cliffs on the Cosmos, it's only now the Americans are reaping benefits as the generation of the day are now at that age!

if your talking about american sports documentaries then espn's 30 for 30 is a good place too start http://30for30.espn.com/ seen about half of these and most were good and some were superb.

Agree on the 30 for 30 although I thought a couple were a bit flaky.  Loved Senna too if you haven't seen that.

I thought "Once Brothers" was fantastic.

Is there anywhere you can watch these for free? The Marcus Dupree one looks great.

Watched about 5 others from the 30 on 30 and nothing gets close to that film. Best sports doc I have seen thus far, but have not seen Senna

I watched Unguarded last night as part of the 30 for 30 reruns on ESPN, I was hooked ( no pun intended).

For those not familiar with the documentary it is about Chris Herren a star of college basketball in the mid/late 90's, he could of gone to the very top of the game but for his illness/addiction to drugs. The documentary follows his on course semi success taking him from the NBA second draft with the Denver Nuggets, then his transfer and downfall to the Boston Celtics, on to Italy, China and Iran. Paralell to this was his progression through all forms of drugs, to his life today where he has set up a basketball academy and goes round prisons, schools and army bases talking about his life. I thought it had the Wow factor, if you get the opportunity it's recommended viewing.

I have seen quite a few of them including the Marcus Dupree and thought they were all pretty good. Worth a watch for any sports fan especially if you are into US sports.
