It's not usually good form to link to images on other peoples websites without asking (some sites have measures in place to stop people doing it), this is especially true in cases where the image will be used repeatedly. Aside from copyright, the main reason for this is that hosting the image and serving to people costs money.
Sites like
http://paintedover.com/
and
http://www.imageshack.us/
offer image hosting services for free.
If you really get stuck give me a shout and i'm sure I can host a picture for you.

Bad form, besides it may even duplicate hits on their ailing site!!

Thanks Bongo.
The "angle" here of course is that the pic which has been taken from The Hendon Mob actually belongs to, in this case, Ben Grundy, so it's a moot point as to whether we have crosssed the line of acceptable behaviour. Ironside is a well-known & respected poster on both blonde & HMF, so he has some crediblity with HMF, & I think they will understand that he would always act in good faith to both parties.
An interesting question, eh?
Just to be safe, I will drop a private note to Joe tonight, to make sure there are no misunderstandings. He has been as good as gold towards blonde, so I am sure we will not have a problem.

Hi Ian,
"HMF "ailing"? - I don't think so!
But they are having a tough time with the legal battle & stuff, and the last thing they need right now is more problems. I think we all need to remember that The Hendon Mob, as a whole, have helped to fuel the poker boom, live & internet, & for that, we can all be grateful.

It was a joke, never mind.

Thank Ironside.
Just a small point though, are we "allowed", or is it "done", to copy pics from The Hendon Mob? I suppose the Pic origianlly came from the owner, & he would not object, but I am keen to remain on good terms with Joe & the boys - they have been extremely helpful, & fair, to blonde, and I belong to the "do as thou would wish to be done" club. So we don't spam on HMF, or take any liberties with them, & they behave in kind.
2 easy ways round this if the mob object to the blonde forum linking to pictures in there database of there forum then you can set aside a little server space to host the pics or another way would be send the pic or tell me what pic you want linked to you and i'll post it up on some free hosting website (like yahoo/geocities) and therefore no problem
i would think that seeing the mob has a limit of 20kb on the picture size it wouldn't be a problem
the fact some members have been linked to there p[ic in the mob database since the forum started here makes me think the the little requests from this site to there is a drop in the ocean of there current traffic

Thanks Ironside, we can bear that in mind for the future.
And yes, blonde's traffic is but a drop in the ocean compared with HMF's traffic. It's as if they are Man United, & blonde are, I dunno, Aberdeen, or Notts Forest, if you get my drift........

i meant the small amount of request you make for photos is a drop in the ocean
1 of the DB photos is a fraction of the size of a single webpage
the total requests from reknewed hitting on that photo during a live tourny update wont reach the size of there front page
