Connecting a laptop to an all-in-one desktop to use as a monitor

Cant find answers for this on google anywhere.
I have an all-in-one desktop computer. I have just been given a company laptop. I need the laptop specifically for some work stuff, which I cannot do on my desktop, but its obviously small and my desktop is big.
Is there a way to connect the two and essentially turn my desktop into a monitor? I know how to connect a laptop to a standalone monitor, but not an all-in-one desktop.
To make matters confusing, the desktop is windows 7, the laptop is XP.
