Landlords Insurance, beware of Direct Line

So - we have a house that we rent out. Which means we need Landlords' Insurance on the building.
Renewal Premium from our current insurer is £236 but I noticed an advert in the paper from Direct Line that claimed they would "Beat ANY Quote".
I logged on to their site via a link that repeated the claim - "We Guarantee To Beat Any Quote" was the strapline on their 'Top of the List' Google result.
Filled in all the details and the quote was £208 - which is obviously less than the £236 renewal figure. But Direct Line wanted that amount MONTHLY! The total premium was over £2500...
So I ring them and talk through the policy details - excess is the same, sum insured is the same, accidental damage is included and the fella on the phone says "Yes we can match the price"
I said I'd rather pay the extra few quid to stay with a company that offered me their best price up front than go to one who would have ripped me off if I'd been gullible enough to pay the quoted figure.
I'm sure everyone knows these things happen, but the sheer scale of the overpricing took my breath away.
