Another couple of hands from Genting Sheffield comp this weekend which really through me off. They are from a similar stage to the hand i have previously posted.

Hand one

Blinds 1k/2k shortly going up to 1.5k/3k

EP - 70K
MP - 15K (ken Billups)
BB - 60ishK - Hero

Ep - is older fella manchester reg seems to play a lot around the circuit and larger manchester comps but i wouldnt imagine to be a winning player. Loose. - has already called a 5x range from another player moments earlier with KQ and checked down to the river and lost to AJ.
MP - Ken very solid sheffield player knows what he is doing has made a living of £20 rebuys knows when to foldem and when to ship it in! at the stage he had shipped a few times in last orbit. I am guessing 77+ A10+ KJs+ KQ+ sort of range. Double up or go home time!

EP - makes it 10.5k Ken ships for his 15k and i look down at AQ in the BB.

What next?

Hand 2.

LP-30k
Button -60ishk Hero.

We both cover both the blinds who are playing pretty tight.

LP makes his standard raise to 10K which is now the 3rd time. 1 time he got a walk 2nd time he got re shipped to 35K and passes.

On the button i look down at KJs.

What next?

1. Fold - were not getting enough folds pre from the EP player and our hand plays horrible vs two people.

2. Fold - the damage to our stack vs the benefit to our stack isn't worth the risk when a BIG part of his range is Ax and actually ahead.

1. Foldings, if he's calling a 5x with KQ I doubt he's opening for 5x any lighter than what you have, flipping or losing.
2. Folding again, I doubt he's r/f out of a 30k stack. Dont want a flip for half our stack.

As described easy Iso shuv hand one for the reasons bolded, AQ isn't beat by a lot and its especially attractive with the openers dead money in the pot.

Hand #2 is a fold for me. He has put 1/3rd of his stack I guess he isn't folding, KJ isn't quite good enough for me in this spot- you have two weak tight players on your left who you will be able to raise fold to a bunch in later hands instead of taking this gamble for chips.

Isoing something like AT 77+ maybe a KQs if i'm feeling fruity.

^ I mean if its his standard raise and he has a raise fold raise guess you could double fist splash your chips into the middle with a firm ALL IN to go with it for hand 2 but I'm guessing he doesn't.

What all of the above says. AQ in hand one is a very easy fold, not sure what you are considering.

Do you have the result for the tourney btw?

I think the AQ is a pretty stnd JAM personally. I think you have a LOT of fold equity vs the original opener and you're doing fine/great vs the 3bet jam. You can actually get it in fine vs the other guy too, obviously you could get it i horribly as well lol but I think he'll fold a bunch of hands that we'd be happy about him folding, 66-99 etc he'll also fold all a bunch of things we'd happily play vs, but chips won with out showdown are well less stressful Cheesy

jam1, fold 2 as most have stated already. though 2 is probably borderline if you have already seem him 5x/fold off not much bigger stack (40k v 30k?)
