I haven't had much time lately to go and play live these days and the local games in Sheffield that are worth note are finishing at 4-5am if you final table, not ideal.

I haven't played online or relied on it ever, but it's getting frustrating that I am profitable live, but online I am so poor that it's very annoying and I don't want to be losing hundreds a week just to play some poker and get the buzz, etc.

I am terribly down on Pokerstars to a few grand, even more on Poker.co.uk when a played on there and also down on DTD (I don't play very often on there though). It is not as if I can say I genuinely up on any site and it's frustrating as I am a solid enough player live. I have definitely not got to grips with Online poker.

Thought & advice?

1. quit
2. learn through mistakes (you'll end up losing chunks but you'll improve if you learn)
3. get coaching
4. study

Stick to small buy ins max $10 f/o or $5 rebuy, even a fish like me can win at those stakes without too much effort.

This is the problem though, I don't play anything big on Stars, think max I have ever played on Stars is $55 tourneys and I play the ones you mention and still nothing.

It's just frustrating as I don't play anything of big value on Stars really, yet I am more than comfortable when playing £150/£336/£560/£770 live freezeouts, etc.

I could look at some books, learn from mistakes, etc. I just will have to find some time.

Not really looking to go online for play, just stuck as I am now busy on Thursday mornings from 6am and that is when any of notice in Sheffield is on & with me not having a car, have to put DTD off quite a lot Sad

How much have you played live? I would guess you got to study a lot to be a winning player online.

Play cash games and learn.. Poker isn't easy anymore but if you put the effort in it will be.

i wouldn't even go there...online is very gung ho...as a general rule players will push all in with anything as its so easy just to play another game if they lose, while this can work to your advantage the amount of rivered beats you get seem to be crazy.

also there seems to be a rule that if you 3 bet someone they have to go all in even with 100+ big blinds.

oh and if you win a hand by playing cute you will most likely be told to die in the chat box.

if you go all in with 2 or more players and you have the biggest stack you will most likely win 90% of the time though.

there's a few pointers for you...enjoy.
