(Live)

- the player who wins the pot gets the button and the blinds go to that players left. There is no standard orbit and you could get the blinds 5 hands in a row, or not have them for an entire level....

What strategy adjustments should I be making to play one of these?

What sort of dynamics develop when deep/around the bubble/in the money?

Never played one of these. Sounds like fun though.

I guess your strategy has to adjust dependent on the other players around you particularly the 2 to your right.

If they're nits you can afford to be nitty if that's your regular game, if they're raising/3betting a lot then you've got no choice but to step up to the plate and stick a few in their eyes.

Paying blinds 3 or 4 times per orbit and being oop too often isn't going to work out well at all.

I'd imagine defending/ 3 betting button raises on your BB is of more significance.*

Hope you have aggressive players on your left, makes your life easy and can let them win pots and just open hands you're happy to peel 3 bets or 4 bet with OOP.

If aggressive players are on your right get your re raising chips out - let them have the first bunch of pots when blinds are insignificant and build a tight image early

Makes sense to me

I've only played this format once, in St Kitts [ ] thin [ ] bothered and it was huge fun.

I found it became easier to avoid being stubborn vs someone in the seats to my left and that it helped to have weaker players to your right.

Also, win lots of pots and watch the guy two to your left combust.

The major difference late on is that some players find themselves posting an excess of blinds and thus widening their range for shoving, but equally, if there is a dominant player at the table the players to his right can tighten up and wait for premium hands.

Finally, avoid jamming over a Wadey raise, he will call, and he'll win.

Played this twice, first time at Genting Sheffield last year. Defended the button probably more than a BB. I can confirm players to your left get the hump when you keep getting the button. Second time I played it was at my home game and won it, obv got some stick. Great fun.

Disagree Carl, definately not what you need to do. Still OOP so its not going to be good as you will just get the button calling light and getting all the power post flop.

There will be some great spots to defend your bb, but you have to choose vs someone who will likely play straight forward eg. fold straight away lots or post flop to c bet, Doesn't all have to be straight forward but initially until you have some dynamics on the table.

Button would have to mix up limping/raising with both bluffs and values as its going to keep them guessing.

This sounds super fun i'll have to look out for similar in my local club/casinos

Biggest thing is to be aggressive, i know i said limp some buttons but everywhere else you need to widen and adjust to the button as they are the key.

Correct strategy adjustment when you do happen to be in the blinds is to fight back hard at the button when he opens, i.e. just jam perhaps even 30 or 40bbs over a button open?

Yes we can fight back if we pick up a good spot/image

But shoving 30-40 bbs over a button open, pretty spewy even by my standards
