Is under investigation

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/world-cup/10901630/England-World-Cup-2018-bid-team-quizzed-by-Fifa-investigator-Michael-Garcia-over-35000-dinner.html

Will be hilarious if England are only team sanctioned FIFA really need to be opened up

In the grand scheme of things £35,000 is bugger all for arranging a dinner of that size. Ridiculous that's being investigated.

i mean, that aside, if it's true then England FA should be held to account as well then. paying for a dinner like this is, as I understand it, breaking the rules.

we can't say 'ah but he did that' and take a moral highground or whatever.

but if FIFA don't investigate this properly we should fuck off and open a new regulatory body - begin again and take some of the other big nations with us. I know that sounds paternalist or whatever but it really is the only way to 'fix' FIFA for me.

Ideally yes.  But it can't be done without Brazil, as the other south american countries will do what they do.  And Brazil never seem too unhappy with FIFA.
