It ran itunes for about an hour (until we got the latest version)

It tries to run itunes and we get the message

Tried that, but after you uninstall if you do a serch there is still bits left that you can't delete

if you go to system restore and go to yesterdays date. or atleast a date before you installed it. restore the system and you will be back to sq 1. then install the new version

BEWARE though...Anything you have installed after the restore date will be gone also...

I thought that didn't remove programmes, just restored settings

Are they both modernish pc's?  If so, get a crossover cable (CAT5) and plug one end in the laptop network connection, and the other in the new pc.  They should talk to each other then
