Broadly agree.

The problem as I see it is that it's *really* hard to agree on what sensible checks might be.

In this regard I don't think California goes far enough (patients have to be able to self administer) because if appears to create two classes of terminally ill. Those that can take a pill, inject, push a button, whatever and those that can't.

That somehow doesn't seem fair, but I've no idea what you'd replace it with.

Not far enough imo.
I think it's horrendous that we have our pets put down when they get old and ill but refuse to allow people to die with dignity
